President University
I am student of Public Relations in year 2003 intake and a receiver of President University Foundation second scholarship grant. From semester 1, I am able to maintain my GPA above 3.40 as well as to balance myself with non-academic activities at the same time. It shows the ability to develop myself through both academic and non-academic achievements at once.

During the study in President University, I have been doing many self-initiated activities to make the campus life livelier. In the first semester, I did an English discussion with the English lecturer for all students. I also did interviews, researches and the first workshop on the student behavior in spending their time on vacation and some lecturers to be written in a lecturer’s book. After the final exam, I coordinated with my friends the first Blood Donor and Charity to a local orphanage.
From the First Blood Donor and Charity Day, I got the fist media exposure from Cikarang Pos and it really exposed the name of President University.

Furthermore, in semester 2 I did more and more activities such as becoming the senior journalist of President University Newsletter and contributed some articles writing. Besides that, I was the pioneer of an English Course for poor children around President University conducted in campus’ classes. Through this course, I was able to educate around 50 children who were divided in five classes and I was also able to organize my friends to teach the children English. Not only that, from my hobbies of watching movies, I held movie festivals to collect money to buy the materials for the English course and gifts for the ten poor children in a class.

When living in the previous dormitory, I also opened a mini book rental, English study center and also German Education Information Center for my peers. From those activities, I allocated 10% of the income to be donated to the orphan children. I seem to have a very tough and strong will to raise fund from the people to help others and for social activities.

With some friends, I as the Managing Chairman held a Moslem event ‘celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s Maulid. I organized an environment clean up with the neighborhoods, Islamic Film Festival and Gathering invited the Secretary of Hamzah Haz as the speaker. Other activities were Blood Donor 2 and 3 as well as the Charity Day, which invited the orphan children to come to Academia Student Housing to join the celebration of 59th Indonesia Independence Day.

I was involved as well in the first Ceremony of Independence Day in the university in year 2004. I also organized the BBQ party, which was attended by the lecturers and the management of President University in Academia Student Housing.

In cooperation with an English lecturer, I organized a workshop on ‘How to Teach Your Children English at Home’ invited teachers and parents around the university. I made the teaching methodology book of English teaching and later some other students used it for the Community Development projects.

In the early of Semester 3 last year, I was the Project Director of E-Square, a web development team who worked on the President University website development with my IT friends. Surely, it enriched me with new knowledge of Information Technology field.

I have contributed a lot for organizing some activities in President University including the fund collection for the victims of Tsunami at the end of year 2004. My contribution brought some ideas and initiatives to other students.

At A Glance
I was born in Surabaya 22 years ago exactly on December 17, 1983 in a simple Javanese family and raised in the hometown where my parents live now. My one-and-only brother lives with his family, works for Indonesian Air Force and is placed in Makassar.

Education Backgrounds
I was very thankful to my parents, as they are highly aware of the importance of their kids’ education. From kindergarten they sent me to good quality education institutions. I spent the whole primary educations in Surabaya from elementary school (1990 – 1996) at SD Negeri Kaliasin IV (State Elementary School), Junior High School (1996 – 1999), I studied at SLTP Negeri 1 (State Junior High School) and this is possibly Surabaya’s the best Junior High School up to now and from year 1999 – 2002 I went to SMU Negeri 6 (State Senior High School).

After graduation from Senior High School, I did not straight away enroll at a university. At that time, I got scholarship from Harlem Hogeschool, the Netherlands majoring in Small Business but I could not take it as I had problem with legal matters for the visa. I was also accepted for a place in Studienkolleg Hamburg as the language study preparation at Technische Universität Hamburg Harburg, Germany majoring in Information and Communication System – a three-year international bachelor degree program, but again I faced the same problem.

In March 2003 I obtained a scholarship-two from the President University Foundation and from September 2003 up today I have been studying at President University, Cikarang, Bekasi, majoring in Business Public Relations. In year 2007, I am going to graduate and get my bachelor degree of undergraduate education.

I am a person who is credible, friendly, honest and open-minded as well as sociable. Proactive, initiating and dynamic are my personality traits that describe how I am. I have a strong and tough work ethic: fast, hard and smart working with high commitment, dedication and integrity; three key elements of success that I always bear in mind.

Part Zero: Twenty Two Life Lines

Standard

After very miserable mental war, I eventually could finish writing this “mini-autobiography” book on my 22nd anniversary on December 17, 2005. It’s truly a miracle to be able to orderly put the pieces shattered into this book.

This is one of my personal ambitions to produce this book; this is probably the hardest book-piece to handle. Last year I couldn’t work this out. This year, I eventually did it. It’s awesome. Through the hard days I had to struggle and fight much harder than ever before.

The completion of this book is hoped to be capable of promoting better understanding to most people about me. I perceive the importance of producing this book and giving the copies to some people. I found out that my birthday is the best time to give this.

Besides I would like to create a new form of curriculum vitae. In spite of making the ordinary format, I innovatively create the new form like a book. It’s about how to understand people like reading books. This form is much easier to understand about someone else.

Furthermore, this book is as a means of reflection of me. What I have been doing so far, what I have been contributing to other people and society and what I have learned about life. In my 22nd anniversary I do hope that I can be a better person to everybody in the coming years.

Mohammad Reiza, Delegasi Muda Indonesia

Standard

This article was written sometimes last year (2007) before attending the 1st UNESCO Asian Youth Forum.

Visit of Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO to UNESCO Office Jakarta, November 2006

‘Up Close and Personal: Me, Myself and Reiza!’

I am the second and the last son in my family, grew up in a very happy and depressing environment and condition, but it did help me to find the Alchemist so far. Feel so blessed to have those childhood memories and be a very tough person in life.

I am what I am doing progressively, but I am not what you think I am. Sometime I can be nice but some other time I can be so rude. I am passionate and affectionate but all of a sudden I can be so cruel and rough. Simply too expressive. Some say I am modest but others say I am just too confident.

Well, all those opinions are a way so subjective. If you read the testimonials written below, you will find me in so diverse point of view of people. But I am not a ‘Chameleon Guy’, simply wanna be what I wanna be. I let myself to be expressively free.

Wise men said, “Don’t believe in one-half of what you see and don’t believe in one-half of what you hear” for all those things might not be completely true.

I love myself for the man I wanna be and I love myself for the man who is so determined to achieve what I have been dreaming of. I love myself just the way I am rite now and then.

I am so easy-going person with down-to-earth mentality, simple but modern and can go along with everyone of you in all good and bad conditions. A proactive personality, sometime active and sometime turn to be hyperactive individual. Very helpful, sociable and generous person even though sometime become so greedy and stingy.

Na, I bear in mind that nobody’s perfect…But I believe that imperfectness is the perfectness itself, no?! That is the rainbow of life, black and white and the shadow areas.

I have dark sides too as a human being but I am shining that side with my bright side to cover what I don’t want others see about me.

That’s what I am about. If you want to know more about me & the my bibliography fact-sheet for free, my contact number is given below.

Cheers,

Reiza
